Who was Baba Harbhajan Singh?

The temple was built to pay tribute to Baba Harbhajan Singh, who is believed to have died near the Nathula Pass in 1968. There is a legend that he drowned while escorting a mule caravan, and his body was retrieved after a long search. As per the stories, he came into the dreams of his fellow soldiers and expressed his desire to have a samadhi built in his honour.
